Europa League
According to press we are top of fair play league and England are likely to get a place in Europa League for team in that position. Would mean a very short summer break with the first game very early in July as a pre qualifier. Would this be a good thing? Would mean no meaningless friendlies and perhaps us starting the premier league more match fit than usual but would mean if we go on to play in Europa League potentially up to 60 games next season. So extra revenue but a more tired squad come seasons end. May mean we could also attract better players?

Re: Europa League
If we add some more decent signings over the summer then we should have a decent enough and large enough squad to cope.... Europa games in July are better than meaningless friendlies so bring it on.

A humiliating way to qualify for European football.

Re: Europa League
Agree... if you finish in the bottom half or get relegated but we could easily finish 8th, one place outside the Europa positions anyway.... someone has to qualify through fair play, don't see the problem with it myself!

It would fuck us up especially with the OAF in charge!

Some people on here will be wanking themsleves to death if it means a couple of trips to Europe. The football side of things won't even come into it.

Another cup competion?

That won't do. I'd imagine BFS will send his son out to get some reds and throw some games

Re: Europa League
I'd take it. Be fantastic to have a bit of European football at West Ham. There's no way we could play in it with Allardyce in charge though, it would be embarrassing.

I don't really see how any West Ham supporter could not want to see us in Europe. Especially in the last season at the Boleyn.

Re: Europa League
It would make for a much harder season and no doubt affect us in the league but what a way to say goodbye to the Boleyn Ground. European football under the floodlights.

Regardless of how we qualified, I'm not sure how anyone could deny how good it would be. The Europa League is pretty shit, apart from when you're in it.

Thursday/Sunday
Games in obscure 'Stans against fuck knows who
58 games later the CL losers drop in to win it

Meanwhile, in the league we are in the bottom six

But no worries, world stars are queuing up to have just a four week break before dodging SAM's and dodgey pilots as they head east every other week

Give it to Spurs

Re: Europa League
Certainly would need a much bigger squad. Three centre halves with potentially 60 games wouldn't end well.

Chance of decent European away trips? What's not to like...

Re: Europa League
Entering via the FPL, we'd be going in at the first Qualifying Round, which means negotiating 4 two-legged ties to get to the Group Stage. Our season would start on Thu July 2nd, with further games on 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th July and 6th, 20th and 27th August.

If anyone thinks we have the squad or the manager to deal with such a situation, then they're fucking mental.

Re: Europa League
yes, being in Europe is a good thing. playing on a sunday is a cunt though but for those that go to the away games, they'll be left with brilliant memories that will stay with them for a long time
